There’s no difference between the original and the hits version of a game other than packaging. Platinum hits are just a reprint of a popular game. But it would help to know what the game is… you’ll have to check the compatibility list to see whether or not the 360 can run it. Not all original xbox games can run on the 360.

Also, if your brother got the 360 Arcade (and thus doesn’t have a hard drive), he can’t play original xbox at all. You have to install an update before the 360 is backwards compatible, and the update requires a hard drive.
